Salvation is God’s Free Gift

Every human being is born in sin. Sin separates man from God, and the final outcome of sin is death—both physical and spiritual. But the good news of the Gospel is this: God, out of His great love, offers salvation freely through His Son Jesus Christ. We cannot earn it with money, power, or our good works. It is a free gift of grace that we receive only by faith in Christ.

1. Sin separates man from God

  • Isaiah 59:2 – “Your iniquities have separated between you and your God…”
  • Sin creates a wall between man and God. No matter how hard man tries, he cannot reach God on his own.
  • This separation leads to eternal death if not reconciled through Christ.

2. Jesus is the only way of salvation

  • John 14:6 – “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.”
  • Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the third day.
  • He is not just one of many ways, but the only way to eternal life.

3. Salvation is a gift, not earned by works

  • Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
  • Salvation cannot be bought, achieved, or inherited. It is freely given by God through grace.
  • Our role is simply to repent and believe in Jesus Christ.

Think of a man drowning in the ocean. No matter how hard he swims, he cannot save himself. Then someone throws him a lifeline from a boat. That lifeline is Jesus. Salvation is not in our strength, but in grabbing hold of the gift God has thrown to us.

Conclusion

  • Sin leads to death, but God offers eternal life through Jesus.
  • Salvation is free, but it cost Jesus His life.
  • Today, God extends this gift to everyone who believes.
